Emo Baby

Jay and I went to our very first ultrasound today and were in awe of the little life growing inside of me. This baby already exhibits how it is a by-product of us: the child is stubborn, let me tell you, a natural angsty protester. We suspected since it is a Legg, it would be active (definitely a Legg trait, not Epps as much). And so it is. First of all, I think I have a bruise on my tummy from all the shaking that ultrasound woman did with the proby thing to get the baby to move its arms (which were crossed over it's face like an 'X') so we could see its face. The baby absolutely refused. Even after I moved to either side and the woman continued to abuse my tender tummy from those angles, little baby Legg refused to surrender its angsty, emo stance. Then, we were shown images of the baby lying on its side and while the rest of it remained fairly motionless, its little stubby legs (in comparison to the length of the rest of the body) were just motorin'. The child was obviously trying to propel itself out of the womb. Either that, or those are indeed soccer "leggs." If its arms and hands are equally as active, we can expect a little musical prodigy on our hands. Oh, and the baby had chosen the position du jour this afternoon: to rest its tiny cranium upon my bladder making the day an awkward one.

All jest aside, WE ARE SO EXCITED!!! Our baby is healthy! And no matter what people say to try to calm you, you go into that ultrasound expecting the worse for some reason: the baby has three heads, or six eyes, or no spine, or is not human. To see our little one just being its feisty Legg-Epps self was an immense relief. And also we were told that all measurements are right on par and the heart beat is healthy and normal. Praise God for those beyond-our-control-and-trust-in-Him wonderful blessings!

21. Arvo and Sara's furry-ness and purr-ness. And cute little heads.

a special category for my mom and dad:
Mom: Seriously the best listener and wisest woman I know. My very best girl friend ever. Where would I be without her?
Dad: My earthly strength and one who requires no explanation from me. He just gets me.

I also love many other things about many other people, but that list would just go on forever.
